United Voluntary Action for Rehabilitation of the Disabled - UVARD Celebrating International Women's Day On the occasion of International Women's Day, UVARD organized a stakeholders' consultation on March 8, 2025, at the Helen Keller Institute, Hyderabad. The event brought together esteemed guests, including: - Smt. B. Shailaja, Director & Commissioner, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), Government of Telangana - Lion Suresh Jagnani, Lion G. Venkat Rao, and other distinguished guests The consultation highlighted the importance of gender equality, empowerment, and social inclusion. Over 50 women leaders from NGOs, principals of special schools, and special educators were felicitated for their remarkable contributions to education, empowerment, and social change. The event emphasized the need for collective action to promote gender equality, challenge stereotypes, and create a more inclusive society.
