United Voluntary Action for the Rehabilitation of Disabled.
Our organization works for the welfare of the disabled with the aim of improving rehabilitation techniques and enhancing coordination between different welfare departments of the center and state.
UVARD was established and registered in 2002 in Telangana, with the aim of strengthening and uniting the NGOs, or voluntary organizations, working for the welfare of the disabled. UVARD has started as a federation to support and strengthen more than 50 partner NGO’s working in the field of disability in different districts of Telangana. We also ensure to intensify our efforts to enhance our coordination and networking in this regard.
Our organization’s goal is to act as an advisory body for the state and central welfare departments in coordinating their various activities, developing new techniques for disabled people's rehabilitation, and disseminating the information to other organizations. Training Workshops and Research Program
UVARD holds workshops and carries out a lot of research on disability. While our research focuses on finding new knowledge and methods that can be used to enhance rehabilitation and support services for people with disabilities, our seminars offer professionals and caregivers invaluable chances for training and growth.

Autism Awareness & Inclusion
A meaningful round table on Autism Awareness & Inclusion was organized by Suchir India Foundation, led by Founder Chairman Dr. Kiron, at Ravindra Bharathi on 27 April 2026. Experts emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, timely intervention, and inclusive education, while highlighting the rising cases of autism and the growing financial burden on families. The UVARD Federation Secretariat, led by Chairman P. Ummar Khan, along with EC Members and 40 member organizations, actively participated in the session. Together, we move forward towards awareness, inclusion, and collective action.
International Women’s Day Celebrations – 2026
The International Women’s Day Celebration organized by UVARD Federation in collaboration with Lions Club of Hyderabad Hi-Tech City was successfully held on 14th March 2026 at Helen Keller’s Institute & Rehabilitation Centre, Secunderabad. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 35+ NGOs/ federation member organisations across Telangana. On this special occasion, 60 dedicated women professionals — including Special Educators, Therapists, Rehabilitation Professionals, Caregivers, and Women Leaders — were honoured and felicitated for their outstanding contribution to the disability sector. Many participants shared their inspiring journeys and experiences of serving persons with disabilities. The awardees expressed their heartfelt appreciation to UVARD Federation for recognising their efforts and commitment. The celebration was a proud moment of recognition, inspiration, and solidarity, reaffirming our collective commitment towards building an inclusive society for persons with disabilities.
*10th Anniversary Celebration of Nayi Disha*
The **UVARD Federation team** attended the **10th Anniversary Celebration of Nayi Disha** held on **7th November 2025** at **T-Hub, Knowledge City Road, Hyderabad**, themed *“Caregivers as Changemakers – Leading the Future of Support.”* The event was graced by **Smt. Manmeet Kaur Nanda**, Additional Secretary, DEPwD, MSJE, **Mr. Ram Kumar**, Director, NIEPID Hyderabad, **Mr. Prasad** from *Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories*, and representatives from *DIVI Laboratories* and *Tech Mahindra Foundation*, along with parents of children with disabilities, caregivers, and NGO representatives who have been part of Nayi Disha’s impactful journey. From UVARD Federation, **Mr. K. Rajkumar (CEO)**, **Mr. Leela Prakash (EC Member)**, and representatives from member organizations participated. The event celebrated a decade of Nayi Disha’s work in empowering families and caregivers, fostering collaboration between NGOs, corporates, and government institutions to strengthen the disability support ecosystem in India.
